Stall Bug 2008 JK???
Sounds like the stall bug just hit me at approx 10,000 miles on a 2008. Happened yesterday doing about 65-70 on the intersate, happened numerous times where I had top pull off and it died. Restated after a few tries everytime and I would continue on. All electrical still worked though. Bad thing about it is all Jeep dealers in Central PA seemed to be closed on Saturday for service, I called about 5 of them. I filled up with gas and it ran good for about 62 miles and then started stalling again. Weird thing is this, sometimes when it was happening I would pump the gas and sometimes it would come back to life but most times it just plain died. Scary stuff here. I already filed a complaint today with the Feds about this. Hopefully I can get a re-flash Monday at a Dealer in Central PA so I can make it home to VA.
Dragline,
As reported in the "another stall victum" thread (see below), I have a 2008 with the "bug." After having four modules replaced over a six month period and less than 11k miles, the dealership I am at in Pahrump, NV consulted with Chrysler Corp. and they changed out the TIPM (Total Intergrated Power Module). This is the same module the G25 satefy recall for the 2007 models called for replacement and/or flash updates. We travel around the USA 8-9 months a year and Chrysler had heatburn with me taking it too different dealerships; cannot be helped when traveling. I have requested that Chrysler buy back my Jeep or replace. Have not started the lemon law process as of yet.
You stated that you reported to fed?? How and where did you report?
Thanks for starting a 2008 "stall" thread.

I have a 2008 Unlimited X built/bought 8/07 that caught the "stall bug" at 3,500 miles. At 11,000 miles I am still having stall issues after having it "fixed" at three different dealerships from Texas to California and now in Nevada. The dealerships have replaced the following modules: 1) ABS, 2) WCM, 3) C.A.B., 4) PCM and a complete wiring harness. The Jeep is now at a Nevada dealership awaiting the install of a Tipman (sp) module; some type of body and electronic module.
Since it is a 2008, the dealerships have indicated that the 2007 TSBs do not apply. Have other 2008 owners experienced the same issues.
Frustrated in Nevada ..

Well let me know if you get it fixed and I will do the same as I should know more tomorrow when I'm off to the dealership in Sunbury PA. Thanks for the info...

Filing the complaint with NHTSA is generally useless unless you feel some sort of satisfaction from doing it. You and a lot of other people have to die before anything really gets done from a complaint to NHTSA. . .
Dragline ..
Dealership changed out the TIPM (Total Intergrated Power Module) and it fixed the problem (again). However, I only have 50 miles on it since the latest fix. We are head to Death Valley today for some light off-roading and to test the latest fix.
Good Luck with your repairs. I'll keep this thread updated on if the fix worked long term.

You are not going to believe this but mine ended up being a fuel pump. Just ran over a hundred miles with no problem... Keep you posted as I will be traveling 300+ tomorrow...

Dragline .. How is it running since the fuel pump change? I have 600 miles without issues (so far).
I did have a "rapid response" updated performed on one of the modules when I took it in for the 12k services. This update eleminates popping in the stero unit.
