Stock JK TechBulletin board forum regarding issues with OE (original equipment) components of the Jeep JK Wrangler (Rubicon, Sahara, Unlimited and X) such as factory suspension parts, engine, transmission, body parts, interior fixtures and the on-board computer.
I ordered a rear window for a stock soft top from quadratech, and the window is about three inches too wide. I had them send me another one, and I have the same problem. At this point I was thinking that the soft top was not OEM (I am not the original owner so I don't know), but the older rear window has a mopar logo on it part number 43r-000573. The sales guy at quadratech said something about a year break between 2009/2010 but didn't recommend buying a 09 window instead. I don't want to go the dealership and get robbed. Any advice on this would be helpful.
There was a change to the back window around 2010 or so. I have the same problem as you. I bought a used top and have a new set of windows. My new rear window won't fit. Somehow you need to find the earlier version of the window. I'll follow this post so I can get the answer along with you.
The '07-'10 windows are indeed several inches narrower as you discovered. Don't you and your wallet go near a dealership. If you really dig through Quadratec's website you can find new tinted rear window for 07-10 JK's with OEM top for ~$87.99 w/ free shipping. Look for the Chrysler deathstar, I mean pentastar on your windows.
I just sold one like you are seeking in the marketplace a few weeks ago. You should be able to exchange for the earlier window you need.
I ordered that one same from Quadratec back in Feb. but didn't try and install it until April. Same story. Way too big all around. Called and emailed maybe 10 times with no return correspondence except new case numbers. Finally got through to them in mid July. Said they were up 170% this year and struggling to keep up.
Turns out that the wrong window had been put into the correctly labeled box. Shipped a new one within 6 days and all good now.
Maybe you just need to get lucky with the correct phone rep...
I have a brand new set of the tinted back windows (both sides and rear). They have the number 43 R-000573 stamped on them. I switched to a hard top before I ever used them, so they are still brand new. I would take $80 + actual shipping cost. PM me if interested.
