Default HELP!!! Wife ruined the steering on my 09' JKU

So somehow my wife hit/ran over a barrier because it was dark and she couldn't see it. She bent the side steps on the right hand side to crap (no biggie) but when I drove it the car was pulling to the right hand side. It also felt like the asb was kicking in and the ESP light came on. What should I do? Take it in to the shop and have them look at it or should I go get it aligned at the local tire shop? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Personally, if she smacked the barrier hard, I would take it in for an alignment and have them inspect the steering/front suspension components to be on the safe side just in case you damaged something that may eventually lead to death wobble or a component failing at highway speeds. The reason your ESP/ABS light is coming on is your steering wheel is not straight or something in the front suspension or steering components got bent or damaged.

Thanks! I'm at the dealership now and they're going to inspect the suspension, rotate, balance, and align the wheels. Hopefully it's nothing more than that.

Lol... Thanks for the pity... But yeah it was the jeep. My service guy said the alignment was out of wack but the ESP ABS light didn't go off. He recommend me to pay the $95 to diagnose and probably re-calibrate the system. What do you guys think. Oh yeah I didn't mention that the wife gave me her credit card and said to get it fixed.... I think I will with a new lift and wheels. Muahahaha....

Honestly I've never had this problem. I didn't know that the ESP ABS could be recalibrated, or even calibrated at all...? Anyone out here can help?

Don't pay it. The ESP light comes on when the steering is out of whack. It will automatically fix itself when the steering is corrected. Also, for future events (I hope you don't have any ) check this thread for the steps on adjusting the steering yourself:

Good luck!

Yes, a new lift, tires, and wheels will definitely need to be part of the repair! Did she damage the bumper at all? Cuz a new stubby will prevent that in the future!
