Default High way driving....

so i have a question, i usually drive on the high way, and idk what it is but since i put my soft top on i seam to get blown around more like, idk if it jsut me but, when ever i am driving donw the high way i seam to get blown all over the road like my jeep will jsut start pulling to the left, then right and getting all pushed around, and like it will feel like i am fight a huge head wind, and idk if its just windy or if there is something wrong with my jeep, but does anyone get this at all?

Holy run-on sentence batman!

Seriously, there needs to be a couple more periods in that ramble.

To answer your question, Yes. I've noticed that when I have my soft top of it would "appear" that I am getting blown off-course much more often.

I dont know how much truth there is to this, but it might be having the same effect as a "kite" (soft top) in the wind versus trying to fly a cinder block (hardtop)

You are noticing the difference due to the difference in weight between the soft and hard top. The hard top is considerably heavier.

I haven't noticed a difference in being pushed by the wind between soft top or hard top on highway (even lately with the 40mph winds and soft top) with my Jeep.

Its just the jeep trying to get to the mud puddles down in the ditches, take it off road more often and it will eventually behave better,

This is a common phenomenon amongst motorcyclist; the cause and "cure" are the same.

When it is very windy, it's also loud. Add in your Jeep's normal highway handling and you have a situation where the driver is going to be very tense. The driver reacts to every little thing that happens...the problem is that it has already happened and the steering correction now has you headed in the wrong direction.

On a bike the solution is simple - Foam ear plugs and getting the rider to understand the fact that the bike needs to tack in to the wind. As soon as they try it the problem is solved. The Jeep just needs the ear plugs and the understanding that you need to relax.

Give it a try; it'll make a world of difference.

I do a lot of highway driving, too. I just put my soft top on last week and I love it. Maybe it's all in my head, but my Jeep feels lighter and more nimble.

what he said. Yes i notice the difference with the hard vs. soft. and when its windy its A LOT worse.... its hard to make boxy shapes aerodynamic.
