Hood flutter and outside temp
I don't know if this has been noticed but I installed new hood latches and everything was gravy until the outside temp here in Dallas rose above 100 degrees. Then it came back like a bad STD. I leave for work at 4:30 am when it's 75-80 degrees , no flutter. If someone came out with a hood latch rubber band thing that was not affected by temp I would be happy. Z-ties make it easy but I think this would fix it.
Get the Daystar replacements for about $25 But you don't have to remove the lower bracket like they tell you to (PIA) just put a pair of vise grips on each end and twist, old ones pop and remove easy
To eliminate the flutter (no matter the temp) remove the spring attached to the hood. No flutter at any speed or even when meeting a semi. Hood does not vibrate either so there is no paint rubbing. The spring is only a convenience factor.
Exactly. I've had my spring removed for a long time now, no flutter and absolutely no problems.

I just installed the Daystar Hood Wranglers here too. Its a great and low cost fix for the famous Jeep Wrangler Hood Flutter. They are def very tight at 1st but ill loosen up over time. I know cause I had these on my old TJ and they work great.
Necro thread warning....
I removed my spring because of folks like the ones above who claim zero flutter. I can personally attest that it is not true. You will still have flutter. It isn't as significant but you will still get it when you pass a semi and occasionally on the highway.
I've got 95k miles that I put on my jeep, so I'm not basing my decision on a day or two of experience.
