Default Hood Handle

What is the miniature handle for on the hood? I read it might be used for securing the windshield when folded down. Is that true? How do you secure the windshield? Any other reasons for it?

Tie down for your windshield. Connects to the little handle on the top center of the inside of your windshield.

Just so you know, those things are called footman loops. The one on the windshield is also used to secure the Mopar Sunbonnet (terrible name for a nice safari top).

Default From your manual

pp 190

9. Lower the windshield gently until it contacts the
rubber hood bumpers.
10. Secure the windshield by passing a cinch strap
through the footman hoop on the center of the hood and
on the center of the windshield frame. Tighten the strap
to secure the windshield in place.

Default Hood Handle

Thanks for the replies. I always figured the windshield footmans loop would be used to mount a top. Glad to see it's not just there to hold down the windshield to the hood.

Also handy for tying down the bow of a kayak or canoe.

I guess I won't be able to secure my windscreen then when I have to cut out the piece of hood that has the handle & fit a scoop when I install my Avenger supercharger.
