I have seen a few people around here in Phoenix with the flat part of their tops painted white. I think there was a guy on the forum with pictures. For looks they leave a 1 to 2 inch space on the sides still black. That way you don't see the white unless you have a view above the jeep.

Personally I followed another members thread (I couldn't find it with a quick search). I got some 1/2 inch insulation with foil sides (Home Depot). Cut them to fit the spaces under the hard top. Then got some head liner material and head liner adhesive (Pep Boys). Cut the fabric, sprayed on the adhesive to the insulation and stuck on the headliner material to the insulation. Then I got some sew on velco (Walmart) and some 3M R20 (I think) adhesive (Home Depot). I cut the velco into sections and used the 3M R20 to glue half the velco to the reverse side of the insulation and the other half to the hardtop. Then I just stuck my new insulation to the hardtop.

It looks great (almost factory) and definetly keeps the heat from boiling your head. It also works well in the winter. I had it on all last summer and no peeling.

Anyone using the side window panels, too?

thanks!

I went with the Graphite since my interior is the graphite color as well. (It is also their most popular color.) I like it. Matches well - better than the stark white that comes stock.

I went with their velcro option, but have never taken it off. (Never saw a reason to, but that's also just how everything came from Hotheads. )

I don't have the side panels, but I wouldn't be opposed to them. It was just a little out of my budget when I ordered them.

Here was a pic for reference from my install. (didn't have the front panels done yet though.)

I have the graphite as well. Looks nice with 2011 brown leather interior. I figured the Dark Oak that matched the interior would be a little too much brown for my taste.

I do not have the side panels, because I was for sure really what they are. Sure wouldn't mind someone elaborating on what the side panels do.

Did you have to lift up your top to get to the area where the speakers are for the install?

I have color swatches on the way from Hot Heads, so I'll be ordering a set very soon. Still undecided on the side window set, though. Anybody have opinions on those? Thanks.

Nope. You just sort of push the top up in there. There's room. The Hotheads website has fantastic install videos. I just took my laptop outside and watched sections of video as I did the install.

SUPER easy.
