Only staighten it if you have connection at a body shop that regularly straightens frames. Don't rush out for a d44 as the axle tubes and c's are the same as a d30. If you can get it done for cheep do it and then reinforce with c gussets and tube reinforcments
Throw money at it.
EDIT: Sorry, I know that's not helpful, nor what you want to hear. I am frustrated because I think I may be facing the same thing on my front D44.
Sounds like Chrysler will be helping me with the bill, but the details still have to pan out next week... long story.

If you have a tube bent (actually bowed- not bent to the point of a kink) the tube can be straitened with a bench-type frame machine or a power post, if a judicious use of heat on the bent tube is applied while bending the tube in the proper direction. Multiple measurements have to be taken while straitening it and the jeep will have to be leveled once the fore and aft positioning of the tube has been accomplished. Finding a shop with someone willing to do the repair will be more difficult than the repair. I've done a couple in my career, not a normal occourance but something that can be done if it is not bent beyond a point....Overseas I don't know....
