How do I ID my axles....35 or 44?
Generally what came from the factory is:
Rubicon
D44 front (30 spline inner / 32 spline outer)
D44 rear (32 spline)
Gears:
2007-2011 : 4.10 only
2012+ : 3.73 or 4.10
Non-Rubicon
D30 Front (27spline inner / 32 spline 0uter)
*2007 only : possibility of a front D44 with locker
D44 rear (30 spline)
* 2007 only : possibility of a rear D35
Gears:
2008+ : 3.21 or 3.73
*2007 only : possibility of 4.10
* So, 2007 model year, non-rubicon : there is a chance of a D44 front axle, or a D35 rear axle instead of the typical D30/D44 pair. And as Jsukey noted, it was also possible for 2007 non-rubicons to have 4.10 gears. Other than that particular year, I haven't seen anyone post about any other non-standard axle options.

Your best bet would be to get a build sheet for your Jeep. I was extremely surprised and elated to discover that my '07 Sahara had been specially ordered with a HD44 rear axle with limited slip, and 4.10 gears. The link I used is no longer active, but this is the email address that came back to me with the info: customerassist@chrysler.com I just sent my VIN into them and told them I was looking for my build sheet. Try that, and see what you come up with.
