Default How do I remove these?

I haven't been able to secure my soft top to the tub with the velcro straps as the bolt threads are in the slot where the manuel states to insert the straps. Looks like I should be able to remove them but I haven't figured it out and I don't want to break them. I placed a photo below.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I appreciate the help..........

No need to even worry about that. The top isn't going to go anywhere.

Your top probably wont go anywhere, but its a PITA to get those straps in there, those little metal tabs have some give to them and will push down just keep trying for a few minutes and you'll figure it out. Its easier if you have small fingers.

Straps? There's straps to hold down the soft top? Over two years now, no issues, and never had them.

It takes some effort but they do come out, however as said before ,don't bother. I took mine out the first day I got my JK (May 29 2009) and used the straps twice , i just put those metal pieces back in on sunday getting ready to put the hard top back on for the winter.

Yah, what straps? I don't know about any straps on my soft top that attach to the tub.

Just wrap the Velcro Straps around the three bars like this:

Also, YES, there is supposed to be a package in your glovebox with 4 Straps. Two Velcro for the Soft Top Tie-Downs, and Two Elastic Straps with a Snap on the end, to hold your rear window when it's rolled up against the top. The Elastic Straps go around the Rolled Up Window (Wouldn't recommend it though, as the straps leave a crease on the plastic window glass...), and snap to the top of the Soft Top.

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

Sorry to hijack, but are those bolt threads for securing a hard top? I only have the soft and just have empty slots on the tub.

Correct! Hard Top Mounts. Soft Tops won't have these, unless it's equipped with the Dual Top option.

Cheers!
