Default how much weight can a hardtop hold you think?

I saw a pic on here of someone who threw their tent on top of the hardtop while it was mounted on their Jeep. Curious as to if anyone else would be concerned at the hardtop breaking or cracking due to the weight.....

Ive personally witnessed this. My father in law has a roof top tent set up on his jeep and uses it all the time. Me and my wife were in the tent and no issues i was 265 at the time and my wife i cant say out loud but the combined weight was 500ish. I didn't think it would but it was solid

Its pretty strong around the edges. I walk around on my top when I attach the hoist. But when I stand in the middle it starts to bend. I only weigh 150. I think it could hold a substantial amount of weight as long as it is spread out and the majority of the weight stays around the edges.

Cool Get an official opinion

Just between the 60,000 of us, I would contact your dealer or Chrysler and get the official "word."
If you damage the top by putting too much weight on it, you'll be paying for the replacement.

Depends upon how you are mounting something to the top. Most people who mount tents use mounts that attach to the body / frame and not the top directly.
