I personally have never done it, but have heard that it is a cumbersome process, you have to remove all the interior trim pieces, and then detach the windshield from the factory roll bar/cage. and you have to take off the exterior windshield trim pieces as well (where windshield lights mount), after those are all undone, lower the windshield slowly, recommend two people) and lay it on the hood bumpers, and put a tie down to keep it from flying up. all in all I would say between 30 min to an hour to lower (guesstimation)

There is a YouTube video of the process. I think it looks odd once it's down. Yes, it is a lengthy procedure. It's not like taking your soft top down or something.

I have had mine down to run wires under it ,and it did take some time to do. I wouldn't recommend doing it, looks really goofy down.

If you don't line everything up and torque everything back down in the proper sequence absolutely perfectly, It will leak like crazy. i have not done mine, but two buddies have and wish they never did.

I put the windshield down on mine on day 2 of ownership, couldn't resist it but for two reasons I wouldn't do it again :

#1. It took around 30 minutes to take the plastic off, unbolt the front roll bar and windshield L brackets, but for what end ? I thoroughly enjoy tooling around with the doors off and top off, and no need for the windshield down also.

#2. My windshield fortunately doesn't leak, but the windshield didn't bolt back exactly in the same position, I can still see the white undercoat spray around the interior windshield corners where the front rollbar bolts to.

It is quite a process to fold it down, did it to mine a few months after I got it just for shits and giggles. With the help of my friend, we had it all torn appart in 30 min. It reqires removing the windshield wipers too. No problems with leaking at all after having it down.
