I have a 2010 dr with a superchips programmer and it does the job. I wish I had the new motor as it has 40% more torque! You will have no issues. I tow a 1800 pound pop up camper and I do alright.

I have an 08 2dr Sahara auto with tow package. I tow a double jet ski trailer which is close to the 2000 lb limit. No issues whatsoever.

If you haven't towed a heavy trailer behind a short wheelbase Jeep before, it can be a real interesting experience at first.

I've got a 2012 auto with 4.10's. I pull a 5 x 10 utility trailer with a Toro 42" mower on-board. Hard to say what it weighs but probably a little over 1000 lbs. It pulls with little effort and more importantly it stops fine.

I regularly tow a 19.5 ft. Bayliner boat behind my Rubicon and it does just fine on the flat but hills bog you down quite a bit. One thing that I noticed is that backing the boat is really a snap with the short wheelbase.

If you don't have them already get some trailer brakes they will huge difference in controlling the trail while coming to a stop, decending steep grades, emergency manuevers.

I have a 2dr 6spd with 3.21s and tow my 5x8 utility trailer with a 1200lb Scag commercial mower onboard. I think the tow rating is supposed to be 1000lbs with the 3.21s but it does just fine, both going and stopping.

I tow a 3500-4000lbs boat, often times with 3-4 people in the Jeep. It does ok. I have a manual trans with 4.10s.
