Default Hydrolock

Well , this past weekend , I guess I let the fun get the better part of me , and I ended up Hydrolocking my JKU . I am gonna say it's toast . I removed the plugs , tried to crank it , and nothing . This thing is my baby , so I am planning on giving it a engine swap . Any suggestions ?

When you say you cranked the engine with the plugs pulled "and nothing", what does nothing mean? Something had to happen. If truly nothing happened, then it may be something as simple as a bad starter.

Your next steps should be in determining if you threw a rod through the block or not. If not, then you may be able to repair.

Here's a guide of your next steps of diagnosis.

Basically , what , I mean by "nothing happened" is you can hear it , but it won't turn . i know one of the cyclinders is completely full of water . I am pretty sure it's done.

Yep, I'ld be trying to soak the engine cylinders with Diesel fuel, ATF and other solvents that are typically used to unseize engines, letting them sit for about a week and then using a breaker bar to try and turn the crank manually.

Dropping the oil pan off to see if that can provide you any insight to see if the rods or crank are damaged.

I will give it a shot for sure . If not , I give up , and let insurance take it from there. Thanks for your suggestions

If you were offroad when it happened, you will want to avoid telling the insurance that if you don't have to. Many insurance companies won't cover anything that happens off state registered roads.
