Default Jeep engine valve cover?

Stupid Question ...I have a 2door 2012 rubi and was wondering why some engines I see online have this engine cover

My engine cover does not have the Jeep logo nor the 3.6 logo in fact it does not have the cover...anyone know why? and by the way it is a standard.

sorry it's not right over the bay..but you can see there is no cover

K well I just found this online (pic of what mine looks like..but you can see in the inset he had removed his cover ...mine never had the cover) also and it might be because I have the power dome hood that it may not have fit ? If anybody has a Mw3 edition and could chime in I would appreciate it....thanks all

Is there any benefit to having it on ? or is it cosmetic...looks like it covers the alternator and a few other key electrical things...

Seems to me it would just help keep heat in.
If I had a 12+ I would take it off.

It's a sound dampener, keeps engine noise down. Some people remove them so the engine runs cooler.

From personal experience i find that it keeps mud/water off the top of the engine. and if you have a 2012+ it should have come with one, yell at your dealership for one haha. in terms of heat i never found it an issue with my stock hood. now i have the AEV heat reduction hood though.
