Jeep in failsafe limp mode, code P0344
This issue I have is very odd. I can drive highway speeds, but once that RPM reaches and holds around 3000 or more it's only a matter of times before it kicks the TCS off. I've managed to trick the limp mode though. If I'm on the highway, I put the jeep in manual shift mode. When it does kick, you can hear a noticeable lul as if the jeep is attempting to disengage, but because its in manual mode, I get my power back. The engine light comes on and the TCS light comes on as well. The main things that change are: No Cruise Control and if I let off the accelerator it hesitates for a moment before responding when I push the accelerator again. I have to keep constant equal pressure on the gas pedal. The ABS light never comes on at all, and the only readings I get are, P2638 Torque Management Feedback Signal A Range/Perf, P0344 Camshaft Pos Sens A. I once got C123C Dynamics Sensor Mounting/Installation Performance, but it never came back.
The Dynamic sensor and torque feed back went away for me too but only after I changed the ABS sensors and the crank sensor, and cam sensors. It is frustrating how the crank sensor, and cam sensors influence the engine management, ignition timing, fuel injection, transmission shifting, etc. It is amazing how easy it is to change a few sensors and your JK will be better. These cam shaft position sensors and the crankshaft position sensor are fairly easy replacements and show up as triggers of multiple codes on JKs. This made a MAJOR difference for me because so many codes were tied to this. It took me 15 minutes to replace the crankshaft sensor and about 45 mins to replace both camshaft sensors at a total of around $60 bucks. I think the crank sensor was around $30 bucks too.
Let me remind everyone if they haven't done this while installing/replacing electrical components on their jeep. Always disconnect the battery, clean the cables and check the grounds. Not only will this clean your connection, it will reset the system. However if the system shows an error code you will need a scanning tool to clear the code.
I would definitely replace the rear abs sensors BUT I would also do a reset as Oscar mentioned above. I would do the overnight battery disconnect for at least 8 hours from what I have read elsewhere. It was the only time mine really reset and the transmission went back into relearning mode for current driving habits. This may be a big help.
