I just ordered a jeep on 4/12 and the dealer said 6-8 weeks. Is this true or is it usually longer? Im new to the forum and always wanted a jeed since I was a kid. Its a silver 2 door X with soft top, 6 speed , S package, Black package, tow package, infinity, sat radio, fog lights and limited slip.

My Unlimited Rubicon was ordered June 28, 2007 and the dealer received it in March, 2008.

Now, this wasn't ordered for me, specifically, and I hear the Unlimited, Manual, Rubi's are taking longer, but that's and FYI.

I ordered my '08 Rubi on June 7, production started around July 25, I picked her up on Oct 31.

 

I saw that post...I asked the dealer how long it takes to get the vin # so I can track it and they said about 2 weeks...

 

you will get a VON # right away(order number) but the VIN isn't issued until the order is in D status, or is it D1, anyway that is the last step before the build, I didn't get my VIN until 10 Oct.

 

If I call the dealer and they give me a order number can I track it with that?

 

yes, you call give them the VON#, the CS folks will open a file and give you a case # and that is the # they will look up every time you call after that, least that is the way it was.
