jk manual shift boot retainer thingy snapped.
So yeah I dont know the technical name of the piece so dont flame me. But the plastic piece of crap broke on me this weekend while I was pulling up on the boot a little to detail the jeep. Read around everyone said by a billet aluminum replacement for 70 bucks or a stock one from the dealership for 30. Well didnt want a stock one that would just break again. And not a fan of billet trim crap. Its a jeep. They werent made to be pretty. And I hate seeing mall rated jeeps on 22s. So I fixed it with a drill and some machine screws. I kinda like the look.

Nice job man. I had the exact same thing happen to mine. I ended up just using Silicone to cement it back in. Mines just a silver retainer, yours looks way better with that bolted-down look to it...

I used the machine screws on my '07 and it does give it a bit of flare, but if you know anyone in the military that can get some 'em-new (emblem paint),you can paint the screws to match the trim if you dont care for the shiny look.nail polish works too but takes several light coats.
