Default JK Newbie question

i no longer have the 'horn with lock' option enable on my jk. i followed the instruction in the manual and it never came back after countless attempts, on numerous days. i never disabled it initially, it just shut off one day. anyone else out there have this issue? any help on how to restore it would be great! thanks!

Turning that thing off was the FIRST thing I did. I hate drawing attention to myself or waking the neighbors in the middle of the night just because I want to lock my jeep.

It is quite easy to hear the locks themselves working when you lock the Jeep.

If you must have it back, go to your dealer and let them do it. It should be a warranty issue if the manual's instructions do not work.

do you have the alarm or just the keyless entry? if you have the alarm try tripping the alarm just to make sure the horn sounds with it.

i had the same problem with my horn...
went to beep the horn to say "goodbye" to my gram and it didnt work. 1/2 mile down the road it just spontaneously beeped. a few days later, i got cut off in traffic... hit the horn and it sounded like a dying duck then...... nothing.

so i took it in and was told a clockspring in the steering wheel broke which shorted out teh TIPM (a fancy name for the fuse box under the hood)

long story short.... take it in, sounds way similar to mine

i have both. i tried to trip the alarm and the horn is still present. i'm sure my neighbours luved that day i was fiddling w/it. any event, the horn w/lock is still gone even tho i followed the instructions in the manual on how to enable/disable it. i never consciously disabled it. it just stopped working. i've since learned to live w/it and to always look back when i lock it. gives me an excuse to look at my JK again!
