Jk Top Speed
No, but I would bet the number of people who walk away from those is lower than those who haven't. I would also venture that the ones that do are in specially designed vehicles, of which the JK isn't.
Falls from standing can kill. Thus, people who can't stand well and are at risk are put on falls precautions. Just the same, Vehicles not designed to be driven fast have speed limiters.
Saying speed doesn't kill is the same as saying the fall doesn't kill you, it is the stop at the end. If you aren't in a controlled environment, speed kills, if only because other people are out there. Period. Trauma census is at 24 today, speed was a factor in more than half.
20 can kill, heck even 5 given the right conditions. Speed has never killed anyone to the best of my memory, but poor training has.

Speed is not a factor in trauma centers. What is a factor is the choice of where a person decided to act up, or it could be reckless driving of a motorcycle. Motorcycles are not crash resistant.
If two vehicles are going 35mph that seems safe enought, right? Now run them head on into each other. It equals a 70MPH crash and most likely one or all may be killed, by the crash.
I have seen far more crashes caused my irresponsible drivers, or slow drivers in the wrong lane than caused by speeding. In the old days few survived a 100mph crash even in race cars, now with the increase of safety designs most will survive them.
I understand that unskilled drivers should not speed, and that their driving should be severely limited, speed may never be a factor with them. Common sense should prevail on what a person does and when. Common sense seems lacking in the general populace today.
To be totally sarcastic about this, we should all drive drunk, since statistically less drunk drivers are injured in crashes than sober regardless of the type of accident. As amazing as that is, it sucks.
As to the JK is has a high crash test rating as a few on this site can attest to from personal experience.
Damn right. That's been my whole point jokin about the nitrous. I mean hell, if they wanna go 100 plus, buy a Viper. These Jeeps are PLENTY capable JUST like they are.
I don't want to add to the problem here, but in the UK the JK is quoted as having a 112mph top speed in the brochure.
As I've only put 600 miles on mine so far I don't want to push it, but have been up to 100mph with no issues at all.

My GPS says the fastest I have ever gone is 91mph. Now I have 33's, I never really even go over 80mph. Don't know how much faster it will go, but chances are trying to displace that much air that fast I will run out of gas before I get the speedometer any faster.
That is not to say that stiffer springs and shocks wouldn't be a great idea, and a Jeep with a LWB might be better suited for at speed runs.
On a Calif freeway with corners designed for 80 and wide open spaces, little chance of wild animals and then, shrugs.
That said, common sense should prevail, that and knowing ones capabilities.
