Dad's 07 rubicon is coming up on 80k miles and not a single problem at all. Only the gibson dual exhaust rusted off.

My 08 has a ton of leaking hardtop problems. Nothing else though. The top seals will be replaced under warranty in a few weeks. It is backordered at the moment.

A little respect goes a long way with people and Jeeps. All I have to do is remind my JK about the lousy service provided by the dealer and it has developed zero problems.

I have '09 4 door and I have had zero problems that required dealer intervention.

BTW, the problems listed on the initial post are not related to wheelin'.

I believe all JKs are made at the same plant in Toledo, OH so there shouldn't be so much discrepancy between vehicles. Maybe you got a vehicle that was assembled on a Monday or a Friday.

You know what's interesting is that now that they are assembled by robots there appears to be dramatically more variation than when they were done by hand on the old line they tore down.

not a single issue with my 08 that needed a dealer, not even a leak.

Over 17K on my 08. Only issue was the SS that was replaced and relocated under warranty with a better one. Other than that, no other issues, and I couldn't be happier with my Jeep. Certainly no issues like the guy with 7K miles and says it sounds like it has 350K. Really feel bad for him.

Love my Jeep. Still sounds and runs great. And I definitely don't think it was built with inferior parts. Most of the parts seem to be pretty solid, those that aren't seem to be addressed eventually, and I can still work on my vehicle. Can't say that about most other vehicles, nor can I say I have seen an extreme difference in quality of parts in similar type vehicles. But, maybe I am blind.

Sure, there are many parts to upgrade with better parts. But isn't that half the fun?

And I've managed to blow out the plastic retaining tab on the selector wire twice (dealer replaced for free) but really a problem I don't want to be having.

Other than that my hard-top's a champ, engine is performing to spec, and my suspension is completely aftermarket so I can't really comment on the Chrysler quality. E-Lockers work well enough although my sway bar disconnect is finicky and doesn't seem to give full flex (I just bought JKS quick disco's and do it that way now)

I wish Jeep would become independent...Never going to happen though.
I'll drink to that! Wheeling it a couple weeks ago and had to yank the sh1t out of it to get it in 4L.....my buddy was at a stand still in his Jeep crying laughing telling me it looks like I was humping the dash board!

Other than the soft top leak and wind noise which the dealer fixed I have no problems.

I have problems with the dealer lieing to me and havneing to take him printouts from the web to prove there is a fix for my issue. But service departments are what they are, the most expensive poorest quality place to get your vehicle fixed. At least in my experience, not just Jeep.
