The main gripe with my 08 (26k miles) is the damn transfer case. Shifting into/out of 4hi/lo on the trail is a huge PITA (where the hell am I supposed to find a place to Neutral coast @ 2mph on the side of a cliff or in a mud hole?) And I've managed to blow out the plastic retaining tab on the selector wire twice (dealer replaced for free) but really a problem I don't want to be having.

If it wasn't a Jeep that I love so much having the top down, cruising on the trails I would have pitched it and never bought another vehicle from the manufacturer. The manufacturing is the worst I have ever encountered by about 10 fold. I wish somehow Jeep would be sold to a competent manufacturer.

09 with 5,000 miles. Had front axle seal leak, dealer replaced. Bad rattle in the front end finally located it and found front stablizer bar bolt loose. Tighten myself and no more rattle. Still love it and glad to have it. Use to have H2 and have a lot more fun off road with the X as we can go more places. Guess I have lower expectations since it is not that expensive of a vehicle.
