Looking to put a soft top on my 09 JKU. I see that there is a early and late style 07-10 and 11-18 JKU top. I assume the late style is the one to get? (Wifes 2015 JKU has factory jeep soft top and we like it). Looking at used tops as the come up for sale frequently.

Also - read a lot of threads about people complaining that replacement canvas from Bestop is not great? The few reviews I have found say bestop canvas on oem frame fits loose/flaps at highway speed and super noisy?

Any advice or info is appreciated..

 

Early style the top had to be clipped in around the top of the door surrounds and they were terrible. Design from '10 up was held in place with tension around the top of the door surrounds and was a better design. Somewhere along the way (can't recall which year) they added the spring assist feature which made raising and lowering the top a bit easier.

I can't advise on the replacement fabric fitting good or not.

I can tell you that the premium twill material is worth the extra cost.
