Who Still has the Lifetime Warranty
I was wondering who has the lifetime warranty and if they thought it was worth it. Mine has paid for itself 3 times over and after 188K miles it was well worth it.
Still have my 08 X. Nobody can believe it... not even new service advisors. One time I took it in leaking oil. At first the SA did not understand the warranty and quoted nearly $1k. I told her to go back and reference it and then replace the whole engine if she wanted. She came back later and confirmed the warranty and said while laughing "we will replace the engine if that's what it takes"! Chrysler used to sell Lifetime warranties up until 2018. I added the max care warranty to the wrangler for about 1200 about 8 or 9 years ago to cover the electrical stuff. When we bought my wife's 2011 GC we immediately added the LT maxcare because it is a loaded overland. $100 deductible. People used to say 'why by a Chrysler product they're unreliable...' I'm like who cares! At 10 years old your Toyota will be costing you plenty and I'll still be under warranty.
I bought the Mopar lifetime warranty on my 2010 Rubicon. I think it was $3500. Last year my electric disconnect on the front sway bar started acting up. The dealer ended up replacing the whole assembly under warranty. While there, they replaced the oil pan gasket and the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. They said it all cost them over $6000. I paid $100 deductible. Best investment I ever made.

I still have mine on my 09 JKU with 207K miles. I have had intake manifold gaskets done (leaking coolant & oil) and just had my transmission replaced. They replaced my transmission and it ended up just being a faulty/loose connection in the transmission wiring harness sending it into limp mode so I got a brand new transmission when I didn't even need it. That said, I wish they diagnosed it correctly and didn't replace my transmission because I have now lost 1-2 MPG on the highway and I have no idea why and it's driving me crazy. It seems the new transmission takes longer for the torque converter to lock up and I'm waiting to see if it gets better, only has about 3K miles on it so far.

I have the lifetime warranty on my '12 JKUR and have only had to use it twice, so while it hasn't yet paid for itself, it's what will come in the future that causes no feelings of regret in the present
