Not to mention this is common in all newer jeeps..our grand cherokee and father in law's commander have the same style holder.

Add me and the wife to the idiots list. We were both complaining that the cup holders needed to be bigger. I just walked out to my JK and now they are.

I guess I should read the owner's manual.
