UNDERSTANDING THE FEATURES OF YOUR VEHICLE 115

CUP HOLDERS
In the center console there are two cup holders for the
front seat passengers.
NOTE: The cup holder insert is removable from the
console, for cleaning.

I guess if everybody read their manual we wouldn't have as much to talk about.

It even tells you how to open the swing gate:

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE 35

To open the swing gate, press the button on the gate
handle.

I knew about the cupholders but I'm glad you put the swing gate info in...I was getting tired of climbing over the rear seat for access

Having spent 24 years in the US Air Force. I did read the manual (dumb idea, but got bored one day!) and learned not to read things into what is not printed.

Notice it does not say anything about bigger cups fitting!!!
So we are not all that dumb! Seems to me DC is trying to keep a secret

Add me to the list. Just drove to Seattle and back for an M's game (600 miles), balancing large bottles on little holders. This invention tops the easy removal of the air vents by turning left. I drove in cirlces for hours and they didn't pop off, but then just turn the ring and wow...

Some people didn't even know that came out ... for cleaning. Sure you can fit a bigger cup in there but if it was made for that purpose or it would have some rubber "nipples" in there to hold the cup tight.
I have a cup, like a large from McD's but thicker plastic (skinny at the bottom and fatter at the top), pushed down in mine tight so i can fit a bigger cup (mosty 1 liters) and the sides are higher to keep it from tipping over.

My last few vehicles were the same way, 05 Durango, 03 TJ, 05 Ram Quad cab rear cup holders, had to show my brother who just got his JK too. I believe it mentions it in the owners manual as well, at least it did in my 03. but I first figured it out when I was tearing out the console to turn it into a mini fridge with an electric cooler I tore apart for parts, LOL!

Ok, I guess I shoulda read the rest of the posts first, before I replied, sorry you all feel like a bunch of idiots, LOL!!! (being humorous) I had to laugh as I read further and further, LOL!!!!

I never read a T.O. in the AF and forgot to read my new Jeep one too. After further review I have found nowhere that it mentions expanded cup holders. I guess I need to go back to school and learn how to put 2 and 2 together.

Thanks for the heads up Woods you made me look like a Superstar in front of the wife.

"Baby look they come out for bigger drinks and store in the center console".

This thread is exactly why people think Americans are fat AND stupid. lol j/k

Now, the real trick is how in the hell you get the cupholder to contain an 8oz redbull can!
