I don't think the adapters are a big player in that at all and I wouldn't be worried about reinstalling them.

Bearings would have to go first prior to seal leaking from adapters extra leverage. Sounds like you should have taken Resharp's advice and gotten the chromoly units and installed them yourself. But hindsight is 20/20

I really considered that until they told me about the warranty. The 2 new axles installed would have been around the price. Maybe could have saved some if I attempted myself.
