Default left front rattle over bumps.... help

I noticed a left front rattle when going over bumps. When off road this rattle turns into a clunky loose noise. It only happens when turning to the left slightly and comes from the drivers side. I read another post about clips on the u-joint but I cant really see if they are missing. Any suggestions? Think a trip to the dealer is in store?

Are you lifted? When I first lifted mine, i got some rattling because the aluminum bumpstop extensions up front werent tighten all the way.

Check your sway bar connection. I had this same issue and it was just loose. Tightened it up and no more rattle.
To really get it tight, you'll need either 2 open ended or one open, one closed eneded 19mm wrench

check the striker plate on the door... may be coming from there... the jeep has a way of distributing sound so it seems to be coming from another spot

Default I've got a rattle too

I thought it was the air dam/heat shield/ plastic crappy thing under the bumper so I took it off. Wasn't it. The rattle sound seems to be coming from the right and left front wheel wells over bumps. I crawled around under the Jeep, but couldn't find anything loose. So I dropped it off this morning at the stealership to let them figure it out. I'll update you in this thread after they tell me what's going on.

The rattling started after hitting a bunch of whoop-de-do's in Hungry Valley Off Road Park.

its not the striker plate although im going to fix that problem too. its actually something mechanical because i feel it in the steering when turning left and going over any bump or off road obstacle. im thinking like the other guy said it may be a loose sway bar. going to check now. ill take a pic!

Update with pics... I tried tightening everything that had a nut on the left and right including the sway bars. All looks snug! I took a few pics of the U connects and tried to see if the clips were intact and they seem to be. One thing I noticed was a plastic protector as you can see in the pics that was out of place. Should this be pushed back into the axle? Im guessing its there to keep dirt out?

The mechanic said the front shocks are broken. Don't specifically know in what way, but the dealership ordered new ones and will replace them under warranty. Now I'm waiting for the parts to come in.

Hmmm.. that sounds a little funny to me!! Well hopefully that is it. Keep me posted. I guess I am going to try and take mine in as well... I tried to find the problem and nothing seems loose. I can even feel the vibration when going over uneven roadways while keeping a small pressure on the wheel to the left. Could it be something in the steering column?
