Default Malfunction indicator light...

The malfunction indicator light just illuminated on he dash; however, the Jeep still operates and runs normally. All other conditions appear normal. My driving has consisted of a mix of highway/city. I have never let the gas tank get below half.

The specs on my JK: stock, 6 speed manual, 4WD Unlimited.

Could this just be a false indicator lamp and/or faulty sensor?

Thanks for any help.

I wouldn’t worry about it to much yet. Clear the MIL and see if it returns. An MIL can occur if the gas cap wasn’t properly secured. If it reappears go to your dealer.

How do you clear the MIL? I have checked the gas cap, and its secure.

Nope. Only had her about two weeks. No mods or wheeling trips. Just normal, daily driving. Did drive from Illinois to Maryland towing a 5x8 U-Haul that was only loaded to half capacity. She did fine the entire trip.

Disconnect the positive terminal on your battery for about 20 min.
