Does anyone knows why the "Malfunction Indicator Light" illuminates when the Gascap is not probarly secured ?
I couldn´t see a cable or sensor that controls if the the Gascap ist secured or loose.

Cant see how this works .

It lights up to let you know that the gas cap isn't on.

I think it can tell somehow by the ?pressure in the fuel filler area, not measured from the cap itself.

It lights to let you know if your gas cap is loose or missing. It works by sensing vacuum pressure in the line.

This very...uh...important...ahem...feature is mandated by the US government in order to reduce air pollution by 0.00000000000000000001 percent by preventing fuel vapors from being released into the atmosphere. Just imagine the horrors that would be inflicted on the world if the environmentalist nazis hadn't lobbied so very hard for this. We should all fall to our knees and thank them.
