Default Manual sway bar disco on X?

The wonders of the electronic sway bar disconnect on the Rube is obvious.

I was was just wondering how difficult is it to disconnect the sway bar manually on the stock X in the field?

How difficult is it the reattach it in the field?

Is this doable?

Any special tools needed?

You can manually disconnect the stock sway bar links with basic wrenches (I know they're metric, but don't remember the exact sizes), but I would highly recommend the JKS Quicker Disconnects if you don't mind spending a little for the convenience. I just installed them on my JK, and disconnecting them is a snap (much faster than dealing with the stock ones). I got mine from Northridge 4X4, but many places have them. There are also other brands out there, like Teraflex, but I only have experience with the JKS ones.

It's simple. In fact, I went ahead and made this write-up just for you!

two 18mm wrenches to disconnect the bottom. I would definitely go with a quick disconnect kit though. I imagine unbolting it would get old quick.

All your questions where answered in this thread---> Manual Swaybar Disconnect (non-Rubicon models)

It's easy, just not as convenient as pressing a button. I have the JKS quicker disconnects on mine, but this method works just fine too, i did it for about 10months before upgrading mine.
