Is it me, or does the car have a governor when you only have a gallon or two left?

Hahahaha, you guys are killin' me! But, to answer the OPs question; No ,there is no governor to tell you that you are out of gas. You're Jeep is sucking in air, dirt, water, rust, sludge, etc.. I'd get a bottle of injector cleaner and never test the governor theory again, but hey, that's just me.

Maybe not where you gas-up, but here you can get all kinds of "stuff" in your tank. Ever have to dig out a couple/three handfulls of junk from around your gas-cap before you can unscrew it just to fil up? I do. Weekly.
Next time you pull a tank off and drain off the dregs, tell me if you would even put it i n you neighbors lawn mower.
Moral of the story is: Don't drain your tank dry.

So has anyone ever tried to run their JK's DTE display to the 0 mark? Did you instantly run out of gas? Or conversely, has anyone run out of gas prior to getting to the 0 mark? I was watching my DTE display after setting the tripometer, and was amazed at how unaccurate it is.
