Default Metric vs SAE for 2012 JK Models

I bought a set of Craftsman metric combo wrenches and 6-pt sockets to work on my JKU (per a mechanic friend's recs, who stated that most new cars use pretty much metric only). But, when I try them on the Jeep, even the best fitting wrenches/sockets have a good amount of wiggle room. Is the 2012 JK mostly SAE, or is it metric and this is normal? Thanks.

Strange. My Craftsman metric wrench sets work well with my 07. It would be weird for Chrysler to revert back to Imperial.

I have the fixed and ratchet sets. A couple of each, since one (larger) stays in the garage and the other I keep in the Jeep.

It's an annoying mix of Metric, SAE and Torx. Get all three.

Thanks everyone! Personalizing this tool set is becoming really costly. Anyone recommend a given set of sizes for combo wrenches? I would rather buy 3 or 4 metric and 3 or 4 SAE combo wrenches, rather than buy two sets of 12 combo wrenches. Thanks.

A metric set is really all that you need for the JK.
