Missing paint behind door hinges...
OK, Update:
I took it back and they removed the hinges and repainted them. They all turned out "ok" but two of them on the drivers door. These two still have "bubbles" under the new paint...
SO, they (ME) are going to watch it and they might have to fix it again. They did not correct all of the rest of the missing paint from the Jeep.
I will keep everyone updated. Ben

I just had my dealer take more pics of this and they had it at thier body shop for estimates this week. They are "trying" to get Jeep to fix. Mine was an early build, got it in dec of 06 and had them look at the paint in Jan of 07 but the serv. mang. at the time said alot and did nothing. Which in turn got him canned. Mine has actually started rusting on the front cowling/fender area. I will post up what they are or arent doing when I find out..

Anymore news on what jeep is doing about this? I called my dealer about this and the guy told me it was a rust inhibiting agent that they sprayed in the jams
. So I asked him if he thinks I am really that stupid, and he just said they would take a look at it when I bring it in. Has anyone else been given stupid azz responses like this?
My dealer is scheduling mine to get "taken care of" at the body shop. The E-cote, anti-rust only works when covered with paint. Mine is showing signs of rust. I'll post the results of the paintwork..

My 08 4dr Jk Yellow Has Thin Paint Behind The Hinges. Everyone I Have Looked At Has This Same Condition. I'm An Ase Master Paint And Body Technician And Professionally Speaking This Is Not A Flaw It Is An Order Of Assembly Issue. The Hinges Are Attached To The Doors Prior To Painting. Thats How The Hinges And Torx-head Bolts Look So Pretty With Their Unbroken Paint Film. This Should Give No Problems With Corrosion Because Each Panel Is Stamped From Zinc Coated Steel With An Electrostatically Applied Primer. Also Known As An E-coat. Very Corrosion Resistant. I Personally Would Rather Have Light Paint Under The Hinges Than Have Paint Work Done On A Brand New Vehicle, which Can Lead To All Kinds Of Workmanship , Durability And Color Matching Issues Depending On The Shop Involved And The Quality Of Materials Used. It Boils Down To What You Can Live With. At $25 To $35 Grand A Pop Its A Tough Call. Best Of Luck To You All.
