Does anyone have a jeep with something mounted on the fork?

I found a very small unused 2 pin plug on the harness close to the location. Can't easily see the wire colours(sorry Canadian spelling). Could someone verify the proper plug so we can avoid getting stung going to the parts counter?
I did that for the underhood lamp but I think it would be a better idea to tie into the right location and mount lights on driver AND passenger sides.
HMMMM maybe L.E.D's.

I have a 1/07 build X, no under hood light, no insulation, and no interior foot well light

It's been confirmed that the courtesy lights under the hood & footwell are not a standard feature anymore.

Kind of silly I say... it's just a simple light, but can do a world of good when you need it. Even my YJ had an underhood lamp and 2 footwell lamps and that was a lot more basic a vehicle than the JK. For a Wrangler that offers 4 doors, power windows / locks and a navigation system, you would think a couple little lights would be standard without saying.

But I can do just fine with a mag light... maybe add my own courtesy lamps in time. How bout an l.e.d. strip?

i went by my dealer today (i complained about the missing courtesy features before). they pulled a hood blanket off of a 2dr X for me right there on the lot and put it on my unlimited X. the underhood light looked like a complicated pull/install, so he said that that would cost money in their service dept (implying that they wouldn't pay). i told him no problem, not a big deal, but he gave me a locking gas cap for free; the service guys even drilled a hole in the gas cap handle for me so i can connect it to the lanyard from the stock gas cap.

If I had to pay money for the underhood lamp I surely wount not have one. They are about as bright as the trolls on youtube bashing the JK videos. My old 88 cherokee had a kicking light under hood. It woud pop out of the reciever base on a self retacting wire. It wold make it all the way to the back tire. Much better for emergency offroad repairs underhood as well. One side had a manget on it so you could stick it near where you were working.

I have the pad , but don't have the lights and don't care. I'ed rather have the pad if I had to choose. You'ed need a flashlight to look under the hood anyway , and most of thoose lights are garbage , and don't last too long , not anything to go back to the dealer and complain about.......................My .02........

my x came with insulation. not really sure why someone would want to remove it though.

Since the build dates with those who have and do not have the harness for the two mentioned lights are so shifty, anyone know how to tell if you have the harness? If I have the harness for it mine as well make the dealer throw the lights on it.
