Mopar Vehicle Protection
I have the lifetime warranty as I keep my vehicles until they have around 180,000 miles. The first thing to think about is how much longer after the factory warranty runs out do you think you will keep the vehicle.
+1. Thank you for protecting our freedom. I don't come from a line of military members but my 20yr old son is finishing up infantry training right now for the Marines. He is becoming and 0341. I have a whole new level of appreciation for the level of commitment, dedication, and grueling effort it takes to become one of the few. Thank you.
I don't think this is an extended warranty.

In my view its not worth it. There should already be standard bumper to bumper coverage for 3 yrs/36000 miles. The engine and drive train is covered for 5yrs/100,000 miles. So you need to consider probabilities. What is the probability something other than the powertrain will fail after 36,000 miles and before 100,000 miles. Then, figure even if you got the warranty you would still have to pay a $100 deductible on the repair. As for the other benefits I think you would be much better off with AAA or Good Sam coverage. I opted for the lifetime warranty because my real concern is what happens after 100,000 miles.
I wrestled with this for a L O N G time as to if it was worth it or not. Since I plan to keep this JKU for a long time and since I put LOTS of miles on it as a daily driver, I decided to purchase the Maximum protection lifetime warranty. Part of the reason I couldn't decide (until my factory warranty was about to expire) was that many components can be purchased as "take-off" items. I've even seen complete engines etc. for sale due to swaps and/or upgrading to a hemi. In fact, I have already purchased Rubicon front and rear axle assemblies as well as the electronic disconnect sway bar as take-off items. The deciding factor for me was that virtually everything is now controlled by on board computers. Changing and integrating suspension components etc. is one thing but having the main computer go south or become intermittent is a completely different matter entirely. Particularly if it happens while out of town.
Is it worth it dollar for dollar?.....One only knows after it is too late or after the fact. For me the real "value" is in my peace of mind that as my JKU ages it will always be available for transportation and fun, running, and reliable.... and that is the reason that I bought the Jeep in the first place. In addition, it will NEVER go out of style or need to be replaced due to the age of the vehicle. In other words I plan on having this vehicle a long time.
my $.02 (and possibly worth every penny)

I used to think having the coverage was peace of mind...........But reading some of the posts about people having their Vin#s marked by the dealership for no work done on warranty because of something they thought had to do with wheeling or uncharacteristic driving/lifting etc... of the vehicles started too put me off. You have paid money for peace of mind ...and some ass hat at the dealership decides that you went through to much water and you should not have...blah blah blah. If having the warranty was in fact peace of mind ( like in years past) I think I would have no issue but because it is now under the discretion of each dealership and they can now completely block you from warranty work when ever they seem fit has completely removed me from even thinking about any kind of extended warranty/money spent for coverage. I had an Audi with full coverage and no matter what ..it was covered ..no haggling no second guessing ..you took the vehicle in they gave you a loaner and they fixed the problem . I can not even believe they can block someone from having work done...specially after they have agreed to extended coverage...just seems wrong to me and more like a game of russian roulette. I know I sound skeptical but the posts are here and it is happening ...It's not like they are excepting that there are issues with Leaks or ticking engines...they make you jump through hoops just so you can get the work that you are paying for ON A NEW VEHICLE done. Just let me say I have a new Jeep and have had no issues to date and hope not too, But there are many people who do and because you have an extended warranty does not guarantee you less headaches. The dealerships will still try and worm out of what they should make right. YES I know some dealerships are stand up and take the right approach to eradicating a problem but there are way more that don't. Once the vehicle has been sold and papers signed it is you against them and they are usually going to fight anything you take issue with even when it is a real concern.
