Default New 'slip' or 'noise'...tranny, reared, driveshaft??

I occasionally experience a hard shift at interstate cruising speeds. It's obviously happening at higher gears but I have never been able to make it happen on command to pin point. Recently I have been hearing a noise at take off. I.e. After backing out of driveway then going forward or starting out after a red light...not sure if it actually slips but doesn't sound normal. Not very loud. Sounds just as much 'electronic' as mechanical. Puzzling. Is this a tranny issue? Or rearend? Or driveshaft? I have a 08 JKU X. 42 RLE AT. 140k. I have checked tranny fluid. Pretty light and full. Considering a filter and fluid change regardless. Any ideas?
