newb question
hi, im new to the wranglers, adn have a 2door soft top. when i got the car i got it off the showroom and top was down. i was just wondering when u put the top down, you have to take off all the windows, (both sides and the back one) right? (which the dealer did) but when u put the top down should it just be a mess in the back of the jeep or is suppost to fold up nicely? bc when i got my jeep the softop was a mess in the back of the jeep and there was no room to put anything in the back of the jeep? does anyone have any pics of the 2 door? i just keep seeing things about the 4 door? also what does everyone do about the windows when they take them off? where do u store them in the jeep neatly?
thanks for all the help?

I take the few extra seconds to do an accordian fold as I bring the top down. Don't know if it will make the top last longer but it looks better. If I get the urge to put the top down when I'm leaving work. I have some cheap window wipes on hand to wipe the dust off them first. Then I roll each one up, put a velcro strap around it. The straps are from a bicycle tire pump. Store them under the top and head on down the road.
I usually leave the windows at home. If it's a little drizzle, you don't need the windows... it doesn't get that wet.
If you want to carry the windows, I recommend to get plastic window case... like Clover Patch Window Roll: http://www.quadratec.com/products/91109_111_07.htm

If you don't like the messy look, get the soft top boot!

Mopar Soft Top Boot: justforjeeps.com/softtopboot.html
(The boot comes with plastic window case/pouch but they aren't that great.)
The soft top boot keeps the back area neat and clean! It also protects the soft top from UV and other element... the soft top doesn't get dirty with dust etc.

mount some tie-downs behind your seat to keep your rear seat from tumbling when it's folded, put the windows on the back seat then fold it over them. keeps the windows from blowing around, getting scratched, and you have them with you when you need them.

To quote BeerMonkey: "Every time someone calls a Jeep a car god kills a kitten!"
Yes all three windows need to be removed. I strongly recommend reading the instructions in the manual. they seem vague at first, but after you do it, they arent all that bad.
The top will fold somewhat neatly, but alot of it droops into the cargo area. I have a softsided cooler in there for holding my "stuff" all in one spot and that sort of keeps the top lifted up enough to be accesable, but it isnt perfect. If you want good access to it, one of those add-a-trunk things might be an option for you. (it would keep the fabric from overtaking your cargo area) But they aren't cheap.
I dont have many pics of mine with the top down, so nothing much i can show you.
the soft top boot to me is a good idea, but i have heard they cannot be used with the add a trunk. but i cannot confirm that personally.
the Cloverpatch window roll seems quite popular. I just have some scrap terrytowels that i sandwich mine between and roll them up. When i dont have passengers, i just put them on the backseat. When i do, i roll them very very loosely and put them in the cargo space. - I will probably end up with the windowroll eventually.
