Default No tow hooks....where to pull from?

My '08 X has no front or rear tow hooks....YET. But, until then if I or someone I'm wheelin' with gets stuck and I need a tow, where can I attach something to? It's dark out right now and I'm too lazy to go outside and look. Anybody ran into this problem? There's gotta be somewhere besides the tow hooks on the bumper. It's a Jeep, tow hooks should be standard...not an option.

You can wrap it around the axle. Other than that, no, not a whole lot to attach to. At least not that will hold.

Is the class II hitch an acceptable rear tow 'hook'?

The hitch is a good place to pull from. The tow hook and hitch on the Jk attach to the same place on the rear of the JK. If your using a 2inch tow strap you can push the strap into the receiver and put the hitch pin through the loop.

This is an extremely bad idea and could very easily cause some rather expensive breakage.

Spend a few bucks and install some proper recovery points before wheeling.

That was taken before my rehab and sex change operation.

Mopar tow hooks are 70 bucks... spend the money now and you wont have to buy a new axle... It's cheaper than two tanks of gas....

save yourself the hassle and buy towhooks. keep checking the for sale section on the forum and you will likely find some for cheaper than the $70 stock price. definitely worth it. it's no fun crawling under the jeep stuck in a mud hole to wrap the strap around the axle, which isn't a good idea anyway. for the rear use the hitch as explained earlier.
