Default rattling at back

it's most likely the rear tailigate door. You will not feel it shake but when you go over a bump it rattles. It can be adjusted by moving the black reciever with the screw holes on the recieving end of the door.

x2. It's a Jeep. Durable and strong, but not a luxury SUV. If it helps you sleep any better I have a squeak that I hear from to time when driving. I've rocked the JK when parked and checked underneath and can't find where the noise is coming from. You may just have to live with it if it's not the tailgate as suggested.

sorry I can't be more helpful. One other thing to check is the storage in the back where your jack equipment is. Perhaps the lug nut bar or the jack itself is not secured.

'09 2-Door X. My annoying noise was the rear seat. If I fold it and put it back down normally I get a clunking over my left shoulder. If I yank the seat back into its' mounts like I'm mad at it I don't get the noise. To find it I had someone drive me around while I was in the back seat. No noise and it was doing it on my way to his house. I abused the backseat into compliance and haven't heard it since.

If it makes you feel any better, I have the same noise coming from what sounds like my tailgate. It sounds like a rattle or that noise from a movie or cartoon when a knife is thrown and hits a wall or something?? After pulling my hair out trying to figure it out, I have simply chalked this one up to the joys of owning a Jeep.

Good luck though.

I have had so many problems with my Jeep. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!! A lot of loud music cures anything!!
