Grab a bottle of Simple green and go to the coin-operated DIY car wash. Pop the hood take off the engine cover and spray her down with simple green. Then select the low-pressure soap suds option and spray the engine bay down again with soap, then rinse with low pressure water. Repeat until you can't see any oil anywhere. Oil attracts dirt/dust and will make your engine bay dirty as heck if you don't remove that stuff pronto.
your awesome man i appreciate all the replies. now when you say take the engine cover off your talking about that plastic one on top that removes just by yanking it right? I feel like there is oil all sorts of places I cant get to but im going to simple green it out today on the areas I see. Would it be worth it to pay a professional to clean the areas that I cannot get to?

The plastic cover on top, correct.
As for paying someone....there's a surprising amount of room in the 3.6 engine bay. You could easily DIY

I agree. Whether you decide to hire someone or DIY, get it cleaned up ASAP.

But make sure your engine is completely cooled down before you spray water in there. You don't want to crack any hot metal by hitting it with water; then you'll have even worse problems

I'm sure spraying water on a hot engine isn't going cause much problems, not to change the subject

Don't spray on electronics or inside the air box. Usually it's like70 box for professionals to clean.

Guess I better not hit any water puddles, snow, rain, creeks, or I'm gonna crack my engine.

First off after reading all your post it sounds like your engine is fine.

Trust me if you did major damage you'd have problems getting to speed not slowing down.

This past Friday after washing my Jeep I decided to give my engine a bath. I took my plastic cover off sprayed purple power all over the engine and engine bay and then hosed it back off.

No issues and it looks brand spanking new

I'm an unofficial sponsor of purple power. Heck I'd probably give my kids a bath in that stuff ( just kidding just kidding)

But I've used purple power for soooooo many things

The main trick is don't leave any residue behind make sure whatever you clean with it is fully rinsed off

And I never dilute

I can't imagine you could loose 5 quarts of oil out the top of the engine oil filter without the engine light coming on. You would also have lots of smoke from the oil burning on the manifolds and it would smell really bad. Are you sure you had only one quart of oil left in the engine? Did you measure it? I bet you lost less than you think and you're engine is fine. I'd drive it normally and if something goes wrong take it to the dealer for warranty. However, they will be able to tell if you ran it with the low oil light on.
