Default Oil Guzzling

So I have a '13 JK 2D. Based on some threads I have read over here I took in for the first oil change way ahead of schedule. It rolled 900 miles exactly as I pulled into the parking lot. When the guy pulled the dipstick it was almost bone dry. I know some oil consumption is normal for these bad boys, but that seems like a helluva lot for only having 900 miles on it. Thoughts....

Dealership forgot to fill it up before you bought it.

Obvious things...look for leaks. If no leaks do an oil change & see how much oil is in there. Make sure to let the vehicle sit for 20min plus after being run to get the proper measurement. Chrysler vehicles burn oil & they admit it, but wont fix it I find. I gave up on the dealer helping us. Since yours is brand new they should help if it is eating oil.

They said no leaks, no other problems they could find. It only had 33 miles on it when I bought it. Would the dealer have needed to fill it

The great mystery continues! These things just seem to burn oil. I have 34,000 on my 2011 and it has always burned oil. I always have had to top mine off before an oil change. I have no leaks. They do run really hot and I just changed to full synthetic. I noticed a big difference in my last vehicle running sythetic. It seemed to run better. We will see if that also helps the oil loss...I doubt it. The manufacturer would have filled the oil not the Dealership.

yes, you can reset it before it goes off. reset it whenever you change the oil.
