Default Oil pan kinked.... Can I still drive it?

What do you think? I'm suppose to do a 500Km trip in the next days and I just saw that... Do you guys think it could be bad for the engine to run like this?

Not sure it's really clear on the pictures...

Doubt it. As long as the oil pick up is not blocked (which i doubt is it) and you have good oil pressure I would say you're okay.

If it were me, I'd drop the pan and make sure there was no damage, then beat it out with a hammer and a block of wood. Ah, the CJ days are coming back.

Removing the oil pan also means to change oil right... I just never remove that part so I'm not sure I'll do that in a rush like today. We have to pack the Jeep and we are going in a 3 days camping trip with the kids. I do not really have the time for experimentation. Anyways, I was pretty sure it wasn't a problem. I just wanted more opinion. Thanks guys.

The trail we did last weekend was really hard... over the oil pan kinked, I also hit and curved the front direction bar. I realy need to protect the front!

PS. Thanks for the move mkjeep. I wasn't sure where to put my question.

he means the tie-rod

Alex, it's time to get skid plates

and check your alignment in first , this could make some serious wear to the front tires

yeah, the tie rod... sorry for that.

Alignment is ok, I made verification yesterday and I just drove it on the highway for like an hour and everything still perfect so no problem there.

It'll go forever like that- look at the size dent- whats is it displacing in area compared to say a measuring cup out of the kitchen? Maybe a cup, probably less. Not enough to hurt a thing. The level on the dipstick probably hasn't changed. I would never change it on my vehicle.......

JackMac4 bunged up his oil pan while we were at Disney, OK. He learned that you can't just buy the lower section--and it was pretty expensive for both the upper and lower. After he posted about that on the forum, I took TORN's suggestion and installed a Rancho RockGear oil pan protection cover.
