Me. I'm not sure that it is outrageous yet, but it is certainly more than any other engine I've had. I switched to 5w/30 oil and will be replacing my pcv valve this weekend. I've hared that some on the forum have reduced oil consumption by replacing the pcv.

My engine has almost 60k miles on it and it runs perfectly, so I'm not really sure what to make of it. I think I'm using about 1 quart every 2k miles.

1 quart every 2K is not an oil user. A quart every 800 to 1K would be though. Nevertheless, mine does not use any oil and I live where it is seriously hot, 115 - 120 every day for the last month.

Yep same here. Used 2 1/2qts in 3k. And it also has the pinging issues. That is almost half of it's oil capacity in 3k. This is not acceptable. I have started a consumption test at dealership so not sure what tje outcome will be yet. May switch to 10w30 but honestly when chrysler builds an engine that recommends 5w20 then it should be able to run on that and not consume oil...

Seems to me that if you're using that much oil you either have a leak or you're blowing it out the tailpipe. I'd look at the rings.

The earlier v-6 engines has consumption problems. If you have an 07' or 08' you might have some issues.Good luck and keep an on it.

That's a very conservative estimate, with Mobil 1 5w-20. I ran M1 0w-20 and it ate a quart every 1k. I'm going to see how much it uses over the next 1k.

Also, 1 quart every 2k is an oil user to me. I've never had an engine use more than a cup every 3k miles, and most engines I've ever had used no oil at all. None of my other vehicles uses so much as a drop. My Chevy van has a 6.0 liter that gets an oil change every 9k miles. It doesn't use a drop of oil over the entire interval. (I run Pennzoil Platinum, Mobil 1, or Quaker State Synthetic, depending on which is on sale. That engine has no usage with any of them.)
