Only 2 year battery warranty ?????????
My wife calls me this morning saying her 2012 JK Sahara wont start after stopping for coffee on the way to work. So I said to go next door to the Merlins shop and see if someone can give you a jump start and get it to work, so she does. I had her bring it to the Jeep dealer at lunch time to have the battery checked and it is bad. So Im figuring they will pro rate it and I will get a new one. WRONG !!
The original battery is good for only 2 years. And the replacement batteries are only good for...........yep, 2 years ! I dont know if I have ever bought a car battery that was warrantied for less than 4 years. So she asked how much for a new one. She was quoted $179 plus $20 to install!!
So I had her drive it back to work, I went to Farm and Fleet, bought a 7 year/3 year replacement warrantied battery for $92 tax included. so I would have to buy 3.5 batteries from the dealer to get the same warranty on the one I bought from Farm and Fleet.
so that would be: $626.50 at the dealer or $92 at Farm and Fleet......hmmmmmmmm

Did you read your warranty? **"Unless they rewrote it for the last year or two***, all JK batteries in U.S. models are warranted for the life of the basic warranty: 3 years, 36K miles. It says that in the most unequivocal possible terms in the several years of JK warranties that I've taken the time to download and read.
I had my battery replaced under warranty at 18 months, and like Mark mentioned above, my dealer told me it was covered under the 3yr/36mo warranty. Sounds like your dealer was trying to screw you.

I thought the batteries were only warrantied for one year so, when mine died @ 2 months & a 80 mile trip to the dealer I took my battery to AZ & it was dead from a short . I bought the best yellow battery . I thought if the factory battery died @ 2 months I would probally get a 2 month battery replacement ?
My wife & I are old an don't need to get stranded . I thought if I ever get in the area where I bought my new Wrangler I had hoped to get a refund on my new battery ? my thoughts . Bud

This is from the 2012 Warranty booklet. There is no mention of a battery exclusion.
(A word search reveals the word battery doesn't even appear in the warranty booklet.)
B. What’s Covered
The Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost of all
parts and labor needed to repair any item on your
vehicle when it left the manufacturing plant that is
defective in material, workmanship or factory
preparation. There is no list of covered parts since the
only exception are tires and Unwired headphones. You
pay nothing for these repairs. These warranty repairs or
adjustments — including all parts and labor connected
with them — will be made by your dealer at no charge,
using new or remanufactured parts.
C. Items Covered by Other Warranties
The following are covered by separate warranties
offered by their makers. They are not covered by the
Basic Limited Warranty:
• tires;
• Unwired headphones; or
• items added or changed after your vehicle left the
manufacturing plant, such as accessories or
protection products, or items changed because of
customization or van conversion.
Be sure you get a copy of any warranty that applies
to these items from your dealer, or from the maker of
the product. You can find the tire and Unwired
headphone warranty statements in your Owner’s
Literature Package.
F. When It Ends
The Basic Limited Warranty lasts for 36 months from the
date it begins or for 36,000 miles on the odometer,
whichever occurs first. But the following items are
covered only for 12 months or for 12,000 miles on the
odometer, whichever occurs first:
• brakes (rotors, pads, linings, and drums);
• wiper blades;
• clutch discs or modular clutch assembly (as equipped);
• windshield and rear window; and
• wheel alignment and wheel balancing
