Anyway, about 15 minutes later the CEL turned off and it stays off while the Jeep is turned on with the motor running. However, if the key is in the 'on' position with just the electronics running, the CEL and ETC lights are on. As soon as I turn over the engine, they shut off.

Any thoughts?
I just had my CEL come on. It stayed on for several days. I would note I've had the gas overfill problem on and off for a while. (Mine was born one month after the cut off to get it fixed under lifetime warranty, but I'm about to try anyway, but I digress) Well the tech at AutoZone checked with his meter and found a code for the evap system leak. Well I chalked it up to the stated overfill problem, well I noticed I was also low on oil. I put in one quart, drove to work came home; CEL still on. Checked oil level, still one qt low. Put in second qt, and abra cadabra!!! CEL is now off. I'm confused.

Mine also coincidentally went off after i topped off my oil tank with an extra quart it had been missing.

I'm inclined to think my computer has gone mental. I have also noticed my outside temp gauge is sometimes off by a large temp margin, e.g. displays 80' when it's really closer to 60' outside.

I'll have to check that on mine. I haven't really been paying attention to it.
