Default Park brake adjust?

Is there an easy way to adjust the park brake? I don't have any little holes on the backing plate or see anything underneeth to adjust. Am I missing something?

There should be a little hole in the backing plate that is plugged with a little rubber seal, much like the drain hole plugs in the floor. They are much easier to access if you unbolt the calipers. Go to project-jk.com and find wayoflife's write up on tightening the parking brake. A lot of great info in it.

Thanks for the help I found the plug but which way do I turn the adjuster. I assume 1 wheel is up and the other down. Hopeing to do this in the driveway with the wheels on and no jack.

Good luck... The hole is a vertical oval, but you adjust the components by turning them left or right. After fighting with mine for a long time and not being able to see any progress, I ended up just pulling everything apart. I adjusted it until it just barely didn't make a noise when I spun the drum, but it didn't seem to make a huge difference at the lever. I'll probably be tearing it apart again soon just to fiddle with it some more and see if I can get things adjusted any better.

I doubt it, I think you just didn't get it tight enough. If you consider how much easier it is for the hub to turn when it has the weight of the vehicle and tire on it on the road as opposed to turning it by hand with the tire off, it makes sense that you would probably want it a little tighter than how you have it. I'm still trying to play with mine to find just the right amount of tension.

The system isn't actually self-adjusting, but what you describe will equalize the two sides, making the lever a little more effective, if it's not too bad to begin with.
