POLL UPDATE ON 3.8L Engine longevity poll taken back in 2011.
101k on my 08. It uses about 3/4 quart of oil per 1k miles, which bugs me, but it runs perfectly and I've had no issues. I did have a cat go bad somewhere around 70 or 80k. I'm not sure if it was oil burning, or not, that caused it. The mechanic that works on my other vehicles says he replaces LOTS of Chrysler cats and wasn't convinced that was it, so I don't know. It was under warranty.
Bottom line: My Jeep has been great and I enjoy it far more than any vehicle I've ever had, even my 93 YJ, which I dearly loved. I'm going to run this thing until it caves in on itself.

2007 Sahara cream puff here - only 53K original miles!
Was guzzling Mobil 1 10W30 so I switched to dino oil. Now uses a quart every 2500-3000 miles.
Intake manifold leak was stopped in December by 1/2 bottle of Bars Leaks Liquid Copper Block Seal.
Rear brakes replaced a while back too.
Does have a funky blend door on driver's side HVAC, but that's not drivetrain.
No other problems to report.
