Default poor engine performance

i find that my 07 six cylander automatic has poor performance out the hole and while im trying to pass another veh. on the hwy. its still sitting on stock tires and at stock height. i know that the auto trans. has a little to do with it but the engine tacks up high and the jeep goes no where. is there any one haveing or had the same problems i described and if so is there any economical solutions.

When you find an "economical solution" don't keep it to yourself, ok?

I have found that lifting off the throttle, and then getting back in it helps the passing (somewhat) the best thing is anticipating what you need to do ahead of time and compensate.
it is a dog "out of the hole" not much short of re-gearing will help that. I have the 4.10s in mine, and do not suffer as badly as some do.

I just drove from Ohio to the Outer Banks and back last week. A total of about 1300 miles. I was pretty pleased with the performance of my 07 4dr Sahara. Even at 70 when I gave it the gas it would go. I was driving down with my brother in-law, he had his 04 Unlimited with a 4.0L auto, and he had a hard time keeping up.

I had one of my injectors go bad at 340 miles... Imagine, getting to the top of the trail head, check engine light, and then it felt like it was running on 3 or 4 cylinders instead of 6. But, before the check engine light went on it felt like a dog on the top end. Not sure if this is the same problem but maybe it will help.

I definitely have to change my driving style when I switch from my fast car to my Jeep, but I've never felt like the Jeep has a lack of power.

Sorry bud... These things are just plain dogs off the line.

You can regear, CAI, Exhaust, re-program, and maybe trim a second off your time

as far as passing- kick the O/D button off before you go to pass. That helps some.
Please listen to my esteemed colleague from the Great State of Texas....he knows of what he speaks.....

The only way to get better performance out of this motor is to get out and push, downwind, on a down hill slope....the JK is a brick with wheels, it cant even outrun its own shadow...on a good day.......
