POOR Keyless Entry Range Fixed!
Well since day 1 our keyless entry range stunk! 10 ft was the farthest I could get away to unlock or lock the doors....really pathetic worst of any vehicle I had.
Well, after
reprograming the keys.....did not work
Then changing the key batteries....did not work Tried the Chin/Key magic trick added maybe another 5ft and I was not impressed.
FINALLY.....on my last visit to the dealer to get a new throwout bearing and clutch on our 08 JK for the clutch squeal I got the dealership to do another test on the remote keyless entry.
I got them to look at the WCM Module which controls the remote keyless entry.
They tested the WCM module and it had an internal Fault. They replaced the WCM module under warranty yesterday and reprogrammed my keys.
I tested it out last night and I got up to 170ft away and it now unlocks and locks like a charm!!!
So, for JK owners with poor keyless entry range have your dealership test your WCM module it more than likely has a fault and get them to replace and reprogram both keys.

- don't think the wifey & kids would like this option with -30C and snow....but it would work for me!!!

That's why I made a seperate thread for the Fix. I know myself and several others have had this issue of poor Keyless remote Range and had another thread going with our frustrations and getting many excuses from our Dealership.

Did another test tonight and got 350' from the JK and it locked and unlocked with the key remote from that range...much, much better range!!!! Better than 10 ft and doing a Jay Leno impression with the key stuck to my chin to get an extra 5 ft!!!
